How does battery thermal management impact EV battery performance?
●  As they are charging and discharging, batteries undergo chemical reactions influenced by temperature.  Certain batteries even create heat.    For tiny devices like cellphones, this is not a major concern; but, it becomes a concern when large batteries with great power are utilized.    This can cause excessive heat.    One major challenge is the cold.    Too cold batteries cannot charge adequately or emit enough power.

●  Electric vehicles (EVs) depend much on battery temperature control, so a Battery Thermal Management System (BTMS) is absolutely necessary. The BTMS extends the life of the battery by maintaining its cool even under intense loads and while charging.    Keeping the battery cool could also increase the maximum current, which would impact acceleration performance.

What are the advantages of having BTMS in my electric car?
Just makes everything better; a battery thermal management system does. 

● In higher ambient temperatures, you can charge faster, discharge faster, pull heavier loads and all around.  Rather than running on battery power, you can heat the cabin using waste heat. The same processes can warm the battery in cold weather so you can use regen or fast charging, as charging doesn’t work so well in the very cold.

● Cars without active thermal management must limit their acceleration and charging speed when they overheat. This becomes a significant issue during a summer road trip, as the battery can get too hot after extended driving. By the time you reach the second charging station, the charging speed will be greatly restricted because the battery is too hot.
